I recently put the Our Place Always Pot and Perfect Pan to the test over the past six months, and after daily use, I’m ready to share my honest, unfiltered experience with both pieces.

The Aesthetic Appeal

I’ll be the first to admit it — I was initially drawn in by the aesthetics. Our Place cookware has this understated yet modern charm that instantly elevates any kitchen. The brand’s marketing promised not only functionality but also beauty, and I wanted to see if it truly lived up to the hype. After browsing through their soothing color options, I finally settled on the elegant “Steam” shade — a soft, matte gray with a subtle warmth that blends perfectly into my neutral black-and-white kitchen theme.

When I unboxed them, I was genuinely impressed. The cookware arrived neatly packaged, each piece feeling solid, smooth, and luxuriously designed. Every handle, lid, and detail seemed carefully thought out — from the gentle curves to the satin finish that feels pleasant to the touch. The colors, texture, and overall visual harmony made my countertop look instantly more curated and Instagram-worthy.

Unboxing and First Impressions

The packaging was simple yet elegant, using recyclable materials — a nice touch that reflected the brand’s sustainable ethos. Lifting the pot and pan out of the box, I immediately noticed how well-balanced they felt. They weren’t too heavy, but still substantial enough to feel durable. The wooden spoon rest built right into the handle was a clever feature I didn’t know I needed. The lids fit perfectly snug, and the nesting design meant less clutter in my cabinets — a huge plus for my smaller kitchen.

At first glance, everything about these pieces screamed premium quality. I was eager to test them out and see if their real-world performance matched the beautiful aesthetics.

The Cooking Experience

Over the months, I’ve used the Always Pot and Perfect Pan for nearly everything — from quick weekday breakfasts to slow-cooked weekend meals. I’ve boiled pasta, sautéed veggies, made soups, and even tried pan-searing salmon. The nonstick ceramic surface was impressively slick at first. Eggs slid right off, sauces wiped clean, and there was no need to drown anything in oil.

The heat distribution is even and efficient. Whether I’m cooking over medium or low heat, food cooks consistently without those annoying hot spots. I’ve also come to appreciate how lightweight the cookware is compared to cast iron — my wrists certainly thank me.

The Always Pot in particular surprised me with its versatility. The built-in strainer and steamer basket make it genuinely multifunctional. It’s perfect for boiling pasta, steaming dumplings, or even preparing one-pot meals. Meanwhile, the Perfect Pan truly lives up to its name. It’s my go-to for stir-fries, eggs, and pancakes. The deep sides prevent splatter, and the long handle stays cool even after prolonged cooking sessions.

The Downsides

While the experience has been mostly positive, there are a few drawbacks worth mentioning. The nonstick coating, while initially flawless, does show some minor wear over time — especially if you use metal utensils (which the brand explicitly warns against). I’ve been careful to stick with silicone tools, but even so, light marks have appeared after six months.

Cleaning is easy, but I’ve found it best to handwash gently rather than toss them in the dishwasher. The coating is delicate, and harsh detergents or high heat could shorten its lifespan. Also, while the handles look beautiful, they can get slightly warm during long cooking sessions — not dangerously hot, but noticeable.

And yes, the price still stings a little when you realize you’re paying as much for aesthetics as functionality. For someone who cooks casually, this might feel like an indulgence rather than a necessity.

Staining and Durability: Resistant to internal stains from vibrant spices, the pot maintained its pristine look. However, the pan's bottom suffered significant staining from direct heat, prompting some inconvenience during video shoots.

Pros & Cons Summary: Pros:

  • Super cute with unique colors
  • Outstanding non-stick performance
  • Built-in strainer for the pot
  • Steamer and wooden spoon included
  • Lightweight and works on all stovetops

Cons:

  • Hot knobs on the lid
  • Pot handles get hot, not the pan
  • Avoid high heat for non-stick preservation
  • Pan not oven-safe; pot up to 425°F
  • External staining on the pan

So, was it worth the investment? For me, yes — but with realistic expectations. The Our Place Always Pot and Perfect Pan deliver on style, thoughtful design, and ease of use. They make everyday cooking more enjoyable and visually pleasing. While they may not last a lifetime like heavy-duty stainless steel, they strike a wonderful balance between form and function for modern home cooks who value both beauty and practicality.

If you’re someone who enjoys cooking and appreciates good design, these pieces can truly elevate your kitchen experience. They’re not just cookware — they’re statement pieces that encourage you to cook more often, host dinner nights, and take pride in your kitchen space.

Would I repurchase them? Absolutely — especially if I catch another discount. The combination of quality, innovation, and style makes them a worthy addition to any contemporary kitchen.
